Experimental Investigation on Loading-Relaxation Behaviors of Shear-Zone Soil

This paper presents an experimental investigation on the loading-relaxation behaviors of reconstituted shear-zone soils through drained triaxial tests. A multistage approach is adopted to perform this test. The test aims study two main issues: influence relaxation mechanical response during reloading; and strain rates, loading increments, time characteristics. results indicate that stress-relaxation behavior soil dependent stress levels. patterns prior process affect mainly viscoelastic subsequently initial behavior. Moreover, a reloading after gives rise higher deviatoric owing viscoplastic hardening. It further shown can be interpreted by theory.
